The Most Challenging Yoga is Mindfulness

Thought for yr Thursday~Give yourself what you need, don’t do what others are doing if it doesn’t feel right for you (especially in something as sacred as yoga, where the whole idea believe it or not is to “listen” to your wisdom not your ego) Where has this habit of following others instead of our own bodies messages (intuition!) come from anyway?

There’s a saying that springs to mind “If you join the rat race, even if you ‘win’ it still makes you a rat” ~ Ways to embody self respect vs being a rat ?

Tip : If you feel like you need to rest, rest! Not just on the yoga mat but in life. Don’t be pressured or distracted by so called expectations.

Or the egos desire to need to impress or keep up.

Or by what is seen to be more valuable or “advanced or successful” Sitting or lying down in Meditation is one of the most advanced yoga practices I’ve come across. So is sitting back and not needing to take action despite what others maybe thinking. There is so much action in in-action . To understand it you have to experience it first. This takes courage , because in this process you need to let people think what they think and turn your attention back inside , where a bigger truth that’s more reliable resides #trust #justsit (Inspired by Penny Margaret practicing her yoga during Bec’s class)
