Mindfulness Practice ~ Remember where you first began and pay tribute to those behind the scenes cheering you on!

Ive just returned home from watching the “Test” Australia vs South Africa at the Adelaide Oval. Quite often Ive had Yoga Teachers talk to me about the challenges of threading philosophy or  throughout their classes.

My reply is always ~ if you are really paying attention to your life as its happening with deep interest you do not have to look far for inspiration or philosophy (which means ‘love of life’ by the way) Two nuggets of Inspiration I received while I was taking in the good of the ‘Test’

One way to support your practice of Mindfulness is to:

Pay tribute to your heroes behind the scenes! The true stars are those who start out sweeping floors, without realising the impact their support has on those around them! Inspired by an icon in Australian Cricket – Barry “Nugget” Rees . I met Nugget a few years ago in Adelaide with Justin Langer ( batting coach for Australia at the time) & I wrote a blog about Justin Langer meeting Iyengar & being a keen meditator. I mentioned Nugget briefly however would love to tell you a little more about him.

Yesterday it was great to chat again with Nugget & his sister Di before the game . A lot of the time the true Hero’s are the ones offering all the support & inspiration behind the scenes. “Nugget” is one of those legends who has made the Australian cricket team laugh & cry & without a doubt has touched the hearts of many over 50 years of constant support. He began at 18yrs old sweeping floors & running messages for the SACA & today is an iconic legend who lifts the team with his love & passion for the game to the point where they have just unveiled the naming of a room at the Adelaide Oval in his honour . His humility is touching & his passion is infectious , Nugget inspired me to give thanks to all the super stars behind the scenes who have no idea just how much they mean to people. ???????

Take a moment to honour the heroes in your life always in the background cheering you on! Who are they and when was the last time you paid tribute to them?!
