How is an Intention a ‘Sankalpa’ in Yoga different from a Goal

Before you set your intentions (Sankalpa) for 2019…… how about a little “praise”
Build on what you’ve already got
Give thanks to the qualities in you already
“Remember” them is to be mindful ~ to keep the mind steady
An intention is not a Goal
It’s a commitment to your truth
A way to respect & love your soul
Narrow it down to a word or two
Something that gives you a feeling of expressing the true you
It’s not anything you have to go out and find
It’s there waiting just make the time to unwind
To strengthen your Intentions for the year ahead
Remember thoughts get stronger when they are fed
The neural pathways respond to what’s repeated
So write a Mindful Mantra and repeat it especially on days you feel defeated
If you come across a fellow being giving themselves a hard time
Give them a little praise to help them unwind
There are many ways to practice or teach yoga you see
Praise the good in you & others to help set them free
Make time to celebrate the life we’ve already got
Setting a Sankalpa
Or recite a Mindful Mantra
Whenever you’ve forgot
This life is so precious it is a gift indeed
Live the Gratitude by watering that seed
