A Sutra for your Sunday ~ Let it be messy! Weather you are a teacher or student of yoga or meditation, it’s easy to get distracted by the quest for the perfect way to look in a pose. Likewise for meditation the quest to clear the mind.
This constant ‘striving’ for things to be ‘better’ than they are some mind made ideal .
Gets in the way of connecting to what is real. On the day your hands only come to your knees.
We have a judgement ‘this is not how it’s meant to be.
Or how I’m suppose to look’
I’m supposed to look like the yoga model in the book (or these days Instagram )
If you keep falling hostage to outer conditions. Your mind gets full of spam.
So you sit and try to meditate, to sit and empty the mind.
Only to find….
it’s impossible to stop thinking about how your dying to be better at this or that. Worrying about the mind being too busy or the body too weak or fat.
While you are ‘dying’ to be better you forget how to live the life you’ve got.
In the blink of an eye Lifes over and you’ve missed the lot!
Instead give the body and mind a break and let it feel like a mess.
Not letting the fabricated ideal take your life from you, this is the test.
In allowing things to be as they are, not striving to be any particular way.
We can take a genuine bow to each other and simply say:
The messiness in me acknowledges the messiness in you . We are living our life fully today .
All inclusive, whole hearted with both feet on the ground.
Stepping into your warrior 1 opening your ears to sound.
When you let it be messy. Beauty can be found.
Non Striving doesn’t mean you can’t have a goal.
It means simply be HERE NOW mind body & soul.
