Using Mindfulness to deal with reactivity & letting go of people pleasing

Ever struggled with the reactivity of others so much so rather than base your decisions on what you know in your heart to be best, you do what others think you should do instead?

A Challenge for yr Tuesday inspired by The Undercover Yogi and those who worry about the end result :
?Make choices for yourself that serve your path and purpose rather than based on “fitting in” or on what others think you should do.
Those who react to your decisions just gives you more clarity.

Come back to the body
Come back to the breath
Put your meditation to the test

Wait 3 x is something you can do
Turning friction into freedom
By getting to know you

How can you align
If you do not go in
Stretch the body, focus the mind
It’s how we begin

Overtime these foundations bring you steadiness and ease
Habit patterns , fight, flee, freeze or people please….

Dissolve into the new lessons learned and we create a new way
We start to see how meditation changes our day
Making choices become clearer, the worries don’t stay

Emotions are part of purification , no they don’t always suit
Use your practice to help you water the roots
This process can’t be rushed
Don’t worry about the fruits
Walk your talk and this will always be enough!

Let impatience drop away and remember
“Rome wasn’t built in a day”
By all means allow others to have their say
Instead focus on building new neural pathways

When we sit and watch the storm of expectations coming through
No need to feed them, nothing you “have” to do
Meditation is a practice that will support you through and through
No it’s not easy the commitment is up to you

No such thing as a short cut or forcing the fruits to bare
Just sit down bring the mind back home instead of focusing out there.

This is where the fruit is
Right there in your heart
Feed it with the nectar of the breath
Just sit and make a start

The work of sitting with reactivity is part of strengthening the mind
You begin to learn a lot , the mind wanting & not wanting is what you find

Labelling it as ah I notice “wanting mind”
Helps give you some space
Observing and just witnessing an act of being kind
Helping you to connect to grace

Enjoy the practice , that is the fruits you see
Just giving these emotions time to process and letting yourself be

Find places of refuge and thank those who create them. Thankyou to the Undercover Yogi, I learn by your example every day.
Even though on some days for me this feels out of reach
Forgetting to pick the fruits of what you teach ?
But then I “remember” do not let good things go to waste
This is worth teaching I see it reflected in your face ?
